From 2014 to 2018, the Pent Up! project engaged in and considered how the immediate economy of Folkestone along the axis from the Town Hall to the Lighthouse might be reconsidered and reworked. In a time when many are rethinking high streets, the particular case of Folkestone is perhaps unique; as also are the ideas contained in this study.
Time will reveal what eventually happens and whether, as it could, Folkestone becomes the place where something radical takes place, of benefit not only to the town itself but valid in the wider world of macro-economic policy and capable of global application.
